Josh Lewin hints at return to Mets radio booth

Earlier this week, Josh Lewin told WFAN’s Sid Rosenberg that he expects to make the move from WFAN to WOR, though things are still being worked out (MetsBro, Jan 1).

The Mets have still not made an official announcement about the state of their radio team, despite announcing a deal with WOR in early November of last year.

Howie Rose and Lewin are likely to return, though Ed Coleman could end up staying at WFAN (Raissman, Oct. 25).

“Hopefully, they’ll be some news on that soon,” Lewin told Rosenberg.

i never liked lewin, if you listen carefully to him you never know what the pitch was and where it was.He does this the majority of pitches, only very few will he tell the listener where it was and what the pitch it was, I need this because like most of you here, we analyze in our minds how the pitcher is pitching certain batters and what pitches the batter gets wood on. While howie always announces the pitch and where the catcher sets up.

Just give me Howie. Lewin can stay.

Please. Let. Him. Stay.

He's a terrible color commentator. Very little detail compared to Howie's delivery.

I thought Lewin did a fine job last year. Good chemistry with Howie and it was also nice to get a few pop culture references that post-date 1980. Ed Coleman should also be back. He is very popular and adds a much-needed note of gravitas to the proceedings. I like Kevin Burkhardt but I'm not quite sure what he brings to the telecast. There are times when it seems like Ron and Keith are having a fair amount of fun at his expense.

Anyone get the NFL Sunday ticket and get a chance to listen to our own KB do play by play for Fox games with John Lynch this season? He's a natural....and he gets to work with Erin Andrews every week! How much longer before he jettisons from doing those horrible, campy SNY gigs like interviewing the Levittown LL coach in the Pepsi Porch in the middle of August or report live from The Shea Bridge?  I just don't see him being with SNY much longer doing those spots.

Keep Lewin! He's well above-average in baseball knowledge. And he does the job without a lot of the silliness and camp that we get from some of the other NY announcers. As an out-of-town guy who listens to just about every radio broadcast, I thought the Rose-Lewin team was excellent last year,

I thought Lewin did a nice job last year and had good chemistry with Howie.  He certainly was better than "Lame" Hagin.  Though I agree that I'd rather have Eddie C in the booth with Howie.

They need to keep Josh with Howie. The two of them are excellent together and make the games a fun listen.

I had to listen to the San Diego feed for the Chargers-Giants game, with Lewin on play-by-play. He is awfully annoying when he isn't 'supporting' your team.

You had to spoil my New Year by reminding me that we are moving to a AM (only) station. And, a station that spews political nonsense from Rush Limpbags and Sean Calamity-Hannity.

I thought Lewin did a great job last year and I hope he's back.

@Ryan Flanagan are you serious..you actually enjoyed his commentary??????No emotion when there's a good play, he calls a very uninspired game.....

@Ryan Flanagan Josh has a habit of cracking jokes that only people of a certain age would understand...yes, I'm a fan of Lewin.
