Johan Santana threw a long-toss session at Tradition Field this morning.

Afterwards, Dan Warthen told Marc Carig of Newsday Santana will throw a light bullpen session with more reps on Wednesday.

“Big progress,” Warthen said, according to Carig.

Santana threw a bullpen session yesterday, and while he threw from the mound, he only threw 15 pitches and his catcher was situated in front of the plate.
