Johan hasn't started throwing yet

Last week, the Mets told reporters that Santana had been cleared by doctors to start a program that will have him throwing ‘before the start of spring training,’ though did not specify an exact date.

In December, on WFAN, Mets GM Sandy Alderson said he does not expect Santana to be ready for Opening Day, but feels it is ‘reasonable’ to expect him back by the All Star break, adding, ‘It could be before that, could be slightly later,’ but, either way, ‘we will have him for the second half.’

Santana, who will be 32 in March, went 11-9 with a 2.98 ERA in 199 innings over 29 starts in 2010 allowing 236 total base runners.
