love the quote

When asked about Super Bowl XLII: “I’m pretty sure God himself said ‘You guys are probably not going to win this game.'”

One more year Osi!

In my mind, when I think of 42, I see 92, 72, 91 (the ends’ jersey numbers) walking away with (New England quarterback Tom) Brady laying on the ground. I’ll never forget that picture.

This quote sends chills down my spine!! I love it!!

I remember back to the days of the 49ers dynasty with Joe Montana. The Niners used DE Fred Dean and invented the "Elephant" LB, basically a designated situational pass rusher. From that point on, teams emulated that formula and it has worked very well for older players like Dean or Kevin Greene, who became unblockable monsters when they stayed fresh for long periods in a game by only being called on to come into a game to get after a QB.

As a Giants fan, I can't understand why the Giants don't have their own Elephant 'backer like that. Osi would be the perfect candidate for that kind of role. Not only that, but he would provide depth at DE in the event of an emergency. Being short handed without JPP, I don't see a lot of downside to having Osi being back on the team again to perform that role until JPP came back and was healthy enough to contribute.

Frankly, I just don't think Giants management is very forward thinking. Osi would help. But I do admit it would be tough to give up a roster spot for him when there are so many other weaknesses and injury situations to address. Maybe they could call on him in the future if they get decimated at DE during the season. For right now, Coughlin and Company must like their current DE depth to not want to tinker with it.

Don't understand why we don't just sign him for 1 year. He's not the player he once was but he's still more than capable and he knows spags system well. We need help on the end. I'm actually shocked.

Very nicely done, you're really Top Shelf when it comes to sport history.
