Jeurys Familia will pitch in this year’s Arizona Fall League, joining Mets minor league pitchers Chasen Bradford, Hansel Robles and Cody Satterwhite, catcher Cam Maron, infielder Aderlin Rodriguez and outfielder Cory Vaughn.
Familia recently told reporters that he intends to also play winter ball in the Dominican Republic.
He underwent surgery to remove bone spurs in his elbow in early June.
Familia appeared in just one game after being activated from the disabled list in mid-September.

It’s easy to forget about Familia, but he consistently appeared on their top prospect list each of the last few seasons. He throws hard, pushing 100 MPH. He has a nice slider, but seems to lack a third pitch, which is why so many people think he will eventually stick in the bullpen. His mechanics are also all over the road, making him a tad inconsistent. I have talked to scouts who think he has the perfect mix and makeup to be a closer, although to date, he’s only been used in middle relief.
