Jenrry Mejia

Jenrry Mejia’s finger is fine, healed

Jenrry Mejia will start tonight, his finger is fine and healed, Terry Collins told reporters before Monday’s game.

Mejia left his last start with a torn blister on the middle finger of his throwing hand.

He told reporters he wanted to stay in the game, but Dan Warthen insisted he be pulled to keep the blister from getting worse.

When he is healthy he is even better then Wheeler to me at least.  He has made alot of possitive strides. he is only 24 if healthy will give us depth if we can use Gee maybe in a trade to get a ss in the near future .

Great news, if true. There's no reason why he and Matsuzaka can't be on the same roster. Best of luck to the both of them.

Of course the Mets medical staff examined the wrong finger....

This guy should be our closer.

Just put him on the Dillon Gee 70 pitch count and he should be fine.

Glad he's healthy. Now he can lose 3-1.

Since the Mets are 3-0 in his starts this is a good thing. I feel smarter already.

OT: you guys don't think Sandy Alderson is looking to sign Stephen Drew still guys?  We were all over him in the off season and he's likely going to be a bit cheaper now.  I believe that after our first 18 games, the front office realizes we're only a piece or 2 away from competeing, which means more money (which the Wilpons like). I believe Stephen Drew will be on the roster soon or Flores will be promoted.  I'd be okay with either of these moves and with our Rotation mid-season being Wheeler, Colon, Niese, Syndergarrd, and Montero, the Mets are going to be a team to fear in June and on.

This series could get ugly. Mets should hav been swept by the Braves. It took sloppy play by Atlanta and extra innings to squeak out a sac fly game winner. This season is looking way to familar.

I understand not wanting to give away trade secrets on how his finger healed, but with this organization and it's medical staff, plus Coen's tidbit about pickle juice healing blisters on a telecast as a Nolan Ryan approach, which is listed on internet sites as being pretty dubious, I might want to read how Mejia's finger healed, in case blisters are a problem for met's pitchers again.

Too erratic to close but a terrific back of the rotation guy.  If he ever got his control in order he'd be a #2.

@sylow59  ya, it's looking like Mejia will be undefeated this season!

Sandy is sticking to the "scoring runs is overrated" approach to building a ball club. It's unconvential, but he's stubborn and he's sticking to it!

Unfortunately this team is more than a piece or 2 away. There's not a single hitter in the Mets lineup who makes opposing pitchers and managers even the slightest bit uneasy. Even if the Mets pitching staff holds up and keeps the team ERA low, there's just no way this lineup can hit enough.

Granderson is off to a Jason Bay start. And Terry is already talking about "getting him going."

Sound familiar?

@chasesimms If the Mets bullpen didn't blow leads and the Mets fielders didn't play sloppy they currently could've been an 11 or 12 win team.

He's off to a good start. Lets not get nuts.

@yankeehater  bartolo and gee, niese is a goner this offseason. Mejia or montero will be traded in the following offseason if matz pans out

@Zac Tindall oh no, of course not, I'd hate to interrupt the hit parade of sh!t we toss out there

@Muhammed A. Gretzky @chasesimms  Actually, they haven't played sloppy.  They have the best fielding percentage in the league.  It is a lack of talent that keeps them from winning.

@hashburry @Muhammed A. Gretzky@chasesimms

I'm not talking percentage wise, I'm talking Colon's error that was a turning point against the Braves; Granderson's overthrow that cost the team against the same Braves. That's what I meant by sloppy.

@nwmets @Muhammed A. GretzkyMy point? I was wondering what the hell was yours.

Hefner could be traded next year as well we just have to be patient and let the pieces fall in place

Zac Tindall
Zac Tindall

It is obvious that we can get what we need with neise and gee trades. Then when we have a rotation of syndergaard montero wheeler colon mejia we should all breathe a sigh of relief because after the playoffs this year and Harvey and Hefner returning next year our ceiling is very high

Zac Tindall
Zac Tindall

Neise isn't good? But he held the braves high scoring offense to 1 run with an 87 mph fast ball. But nah he's not good
