I hope this doesn't end badly, but I expect the Knicks to pick Mudiay.

  1.  yes they can, and depending on the players salary they can trade whoever they pick for the team they are trading with one on one player for pick because they have a few trade exemptions.I am sure it wont take that long to fined out who they are trading with those things leak out pretty fast, like the kevin love clevland trade

@rico  i have to do my homework when i get time but there is a way for them to trade the pick ! they can make the selection for the team they are trading with and than make trade at later date and to read up will get back to you

Yes they can do that. If they do that we won't know Until after draft night or after they sign the player. So if Phil surprises us and picks someone we don't expect, we may have to wait a few days to a week before a trade happens. Im wondering however if they can SWAP picks.

Interesting thing about the Lakers is that allegedly this is Kobe's last year. I like that he has not made a big deal out of it and started any "victory tour" crap that is getting very in-organic and cheesy. But who will the lakers decide to pick to begin their rebuild? And at some point in the season do they trade Kobe if they are not in the hunt?

before anyone suggests "trading to the Knicks", remember he is due somewhere near 30 million this season as the balloon payout on a long contract.

Funny everybody talks Mudiay. Look at video from chinese league, it is like slow motion compared to NCAA. If he cannot dominate slow mo league and almost 40-years old Marbury....uff uff.

I have to agree that this is a concern with me too. Players dominating overseas not looked nearly as good when they join the NBA. Remember when everyone thought Rubio was going to be the next Nash? And China is not as competitive as Europe. Marburg can still dominate there NOW!

Might just be me being paranoid but it makes me think twice about him.

I hope you are right but still wish we had an opportunity to see him compete at the combine with other draft prospects, just so we can get a glimpse of how they stack up head to head.

@blestwon Except Mudiay was a top high school prospect as well, and woulda gona top 5 last year if they let him in. He wasnt playing Chinese league as a reflection of his talent, but as a denial of the NCAA system.

@Michael La Gattuta @blestwon Alan Hahn writes James "Flight" White was also top high school prospect and we know his nba career. NYK cannot miss this draft.

@blackwood1 Knicks can't trade this pick. They can pick and make a trade but there is no swapping picks because of the NBA rules for trading consecutive picks. If I recall NY did not have a pick last year and do not next year. And we wonder why they stink?

As for the Nuggets plans, who knows?  Love to have Faried in NY but not much to trade.  Gallo is a FA next year and wants to return to NY unless he gets a lot of money.  if you are Denver and want to rebuild do you start with giving Gallo a major contact?  NO.

As for Ty Lawson, not seeing him as a Phil guy, maybe a Zeke guy but not Phil.

Imaging trades is fun. Remember Phil hasn't made a decent trade yet.

They take a big, no doubt. Don't trade pick, just take Mudiay, he's solid.
