Jeff Francoeur told reporters he has been traded to the Rangers, adding:
“It’s exciting, because I get the opportunity to go a team well on the way to the playoffs… It’s kind of bittersweet. Going in to this year, I didn’t envision the year going the way it did, for me personally or for the team. But, at the same time, I feel I came out to play hard every day. Sometimes, yeah, I wasn’t the best, and you got frustrated. But, you know, this is going to be a good opportunity to go play against some lefties and go to the playoffs.”
He said he will miss his teammates, the fans and the coaching staff.
According to TR Sullivan of MLB.com, “No official word yet on who the Rangers will get back in the deal but infielder Joaquin Arias is believed to be a part of the deal.”
