Jacob deGrom will throw soon, expected to start against Dodgers

Mets rookie RHP Jacob deGrom said Thursday that he is already feeling better, just a few days after being put on the disabled list with rotator cuff tendinitis.

He was scheduled to begin throwing off a mound Thursday, telling reporters he already feels stronger than he did last week. However, the team decided to hold him back since he’s not likely to return to the rotation until next Saturday in Los Angeles (ESPN, Aug. 14).

DeGrom, who is 6-5 with a 2.87 ERA, is eligible to return August 24 from the disabled list.

Hopefully the next Met pitcher to throw a no hitter

Because of his idiotic handling of pitchers, Collins, if given enough time, will ruin them all.

Nothing like rushing the guy back. The season is done, but the Mets want him to think he has a shot at rookie of the year.

If he is borderline iffy, then I would concur. If he is truly ok then they should pitch him for the rest of August until he hits his limit

Anyone know if rotator cuff tendinitis can develop into a torn rotator cuff?

I would shut him down for the rest of the season ..we aren't going to a series.. so why not let him rest?..Montero needs to pitch to learn to improve anyway.

@Albert E Lewis  Oh please. Stop treating these pitchers like little leaguers. He needs to pitch. Throw a little dirt on it and get back out there.
