Bartolo Colon held MLB’s top offense to just one run and four hits over eight innings as the Mets defeated the A’s on Tuesday.
Colon, 41, has allowed just two runs or less in each of his last seven starts, during which he’s 6-0 with a 1.58 ERA.
He was 28-15 the last two years with the A’s, with whom he made the All-Star Game in 2013.
This past winter, Oakland signed Scott Kazmir to a two-year deal instead of bringing back Colon, who eventually signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Mets.
“It really means a lot to have gotten this win over them,” Colon said after the game.
