WHERE ARE ALL THE BONEHEADS THAT SAID BUST????

Team has a chance to make divisional playoffs IF they play a defensive strategy that can suffocate the opposing team.  They have the weapons to be an offensive Juggernaut if Eli plays his best.

Can we please let the ball roll out of the end zone on Kickoffs please! I'm tired of seeing Parker and Demps fumble. It cost them the Arizona game otherwise this team is 4-1 with a chance to take over the division.

And I wouldn't exactly be to excited about Beckham it's 1 game. Let's see him stay on the field.

Before we anoint him the next coming let's see how he does when teams start keying on him. I like what I see but let's not overreact.

Mr.F---

WR Beckham looked Very Good,

44yds, 1 TD and he also Drew a 26yd P.I. Flag,

on 3rd Down, which kept the Chains Moving....

a few Plays Later, RB Williams Punched it in....

If D's roll a Safety Over the TOP,

WR CRUUUUUZ and TE Donnell,

will have BIG DAYs.....

Still Worried that OT- Brown is still injured,

we seem RAZOR thin at O-Line....

But they Did Play From behind,

but ATL's D is, one of the WORST in the League...

Aaaaaaa, where's WR Washington ???

has he fallen into the NYG's,

Rookie NO-PLAY ZONE ???

WHY ???

Not only are they fumbling the KOs they almost never end up getting past the 20 anyway so what's the point? It's been all risk and no reward.

@Bo Beck  Can't get excited about one game, but it was OK for people to label him a bust after missing 4 weeks due to injury?

Brian Webster

Exactly! Everyone worried he'd be a bust after not being able to do anything for like 4 months with 2 hamstring strains are crazy but it's perfectly acceptable to think he's going to a superstar because he had 4 catches and 44yds against 1 of the worst defenses in the league? Those stats yesterday are still his stats for the whole season. If when they drafted him someone told you he'd have 4 catches and 44yds through the 1st 5 games would you have been happy with that?

Despite the fact I've been 1 of the biggest critics both of the initial pick over Zach Martin and with the fact OBJ couldn't get on the field now that he's playing I'm not rooting for him to fail and wish him all the success in the world now that he's playing for the Giants. But the fact remains at this point he could still just as easily pull up lame in the next game or 2 and miss another month or 2 if not the rest of the season.

@homerjay  I'm ok with that.  Teams will key on him, opening things up for Cruz, Randle, and Donnell.  Beckham had the game he had because they keyed on Donnell, holding him to 0 catches.

Teams will have to pick their poison.

Doesn't look good on the Fantasy Football websites, but as long as they win, I don't care.

@Skookaloop The 26-yard pass interference penalty on the Falcons' Robert Alford yesterday was on a 1st and 10 on the Giants 29-yard line with 4:36 remaining in the third quarter. It was not on a third down and it didn't keep "the chains moving."

The burden of earning playing time is on the player, not the coach. So far, Corey Washington has had a limited role, both on special teams and in a sub-package in the tight red zone (inside the 10 yard line). Yesterday,I believe he didn't play at all. Why? Because he was replaced by players who are better than him.

Fans tend to love young players, especially the ones who aren't playing. Well, of course. They haven't been given their chance to fail yet.

Michael Frias
Michael Frias

@Skookaloop  Washington's lack of playing time this week is probably because they are deep at WR.  Cruz, Randle, Beckham, Parker, Talley.  Plus Donnell is pretty much a WR playing TE.

And Washington made the team based of impressive preseason garbage time numbers.  He'll need to really impress during practices to get into the top 3 WR rotation with Cruz, Randle, and a healthy ODB now on the field.

@Micheal Frias You know Barden had a much better game then this against CAR where is he now. I don't pay attention to 1 game of a TD and 44 yes.

Brian Webster
Brian Webster

It wasn't just 4 games which is 4x as much as 1 game by the way anyway so 4x more acceptable to have a strong opinion about. It was that he missed basically every second of OTA and training camp and all 5 preseason games as a rookie with 2 hamstring injuries as a speed guy.

Michael Frias
Michael Frias

@Brian Webster  Correct.  He can also be a quality receiver, averaging 5 catches and 70 yards a game, and finally give them an answer at Punt Returner.

Let's let things play out a little before we anoint him a bust or a hall of famer.

@andyb @Skookaloop Let's not forget that Beckham had a stiff arm the whole way and it could have been a no-call or even a penalty on him...which what many thought was the case when the flag was thrown.  Fact is, Alford initiated contact several times, so he got the flag.

@Michael Frias @Skookaloop

WR Washinton made the 53, Before WR Parker...

WR Parker was given a Chance ASAP,

WR Washington's Pre-Season Performance,

should equal GAME-TIME...

the NYG's SUFFOCATE their Young Talent,

when they should Build on it.....

Michael Frias

@Bo Beck  I agree.  All I've been saying all along is let this play out a little before we call him a bust or fit him for a gold jacket.

Michael Frias
Michael Frias

@Brian Webster  OK.  That being said, being impatient about him not getting on the field is understood, but to label him a bust?

And it's not like anyone is fitting him for a gold jacket after 4 catches for 44 yards and a TD.  We're all just glad he showed the flash that made him a #12 overall pick.

@Skookaloop @Michael Frias Silliness.

Richbourg started and Williams and Beckham both got significant playing time on offense.

Washington can't get separation against first teamers which is why he doesn't play.

Michael Frias
Michael Frias

@Skookaloop Parker is also an option on Punt return.  That gets him on the field as well.

Believe me, I'd love to see a nice, tall, red zone jump ball option for Eli out there.

Except the title of this article is how he's already proven he was worth the wait. And this line is what really set the comments off in my opinion:

"On Sunday, Beckham finally dressed for a game and put to rest the rumblings that he was draft bust."
