Ike Davis scratched with calf tightness

Ike Davis was pulled from the lineup with calf tightness on Monday.

Davis was scheduled to be the designated hitter as the Mets play the Braves in Orlando.

Terry Collins pulled him from the lineup, but said he could return to game action by Tuesday.

Davis has one hit, a home run, and three strike outs in six at bats this spring.

Hey, at least he told the trainers. Given the team medical history of the past few years how is it they appear to have done nothing to strengthen the medical staff.

Too much lifting, not enough stretching.

There's always a theme for spring training for all teams. Last year was the Oblique/Intercoastal. This year is the calf tightness.

For the love of Choo Choo Coleman, doesn't the Mets training/medical staff set up off-season workout programs for their players?  The number of "muscle" type of injuries speaks volumes about unprepared some players are for Spring Training.

At least it seems he told the team this time. He seems to be coming up with a lot of these naggy injuries after poor play.

He really is turning into the new Jason Bay, it's all or nothing, mostly nothing :{

Lucas Duda will end up being the first basemen in 2014. I can see it already. Ike should try out for the bullpen, heard he could hit 95 in college.

After his 0-3 2K effort yesterday, maybe it was bat tightness.  Or maybe menstrual. . . .
