Let's hope common sense prevails for a change here and Granderson only starts once a week from here on out. But I doubt it.

I may be wrong but I think Carlos Torres nay have the highest gopher ball percentage in MLB. I would have tried to squeeze another run in that situation. Who says you have to bat Granderson? What about the Eric Young, the forgotten man? In fairness, Carlos Torres did do his job in the 8th but the guy just gives up for too many taters. Biggest shame of the game was that deGrom didn't get a much-deserved win.

It was a night when all the lower case "d's" contributed! Hopefully more of this to come!! "d" power!

The youngsters are getting the job done! In the 1960s they were known as the Youth of America.

I thought these young guys were all busts? That's what the Metsblog scouts here said after watching these kids play in their first 20 games.

why is Flores not starting every game at SS?   RT is who he is and we know who that is.  a weak hitting SS.

Flores is still a bit of an unknown.  why not see him every game.?

I know TC probably shoudn't have left Torres in to bat, but let's be fair.

He also made a good call starting Kirk, leaving deGrom in for the 6th paid off, and he also won that challenge

Nice to see the Mets finally posted something about Kirk as his big hit had not been posted after the game. Hmm, wondering if the Mets were bothered that Granderson's replacement saved them from another loss....considering his big salary. As for MDD's bunt...can't agree with you hankincolo that MDD's bunt was more a thing of beauty than the big hit. Kirk's power has always been underrated. I'll take power over a bunt anytime. By the way, how many home runs does MDD have?

BTW, anybody know what TdA's batting average is since his return from Vegas?

As much as I loved the big fly from Kirk, that bunt by MDD was a thing of beauty. Might've been the best drag bunt for the Mets since we had this skinny SS a few seasons ago.

@cleonsvan  Metsblog scouts? You mean guys who might've played High school baseball?

@nagel100  Terry has no clue how to handle young players. He has messed up Flores, Lagares and even Campbell.

Managing 101 base loaded you Must try to add on Letting Torres bat was wrong. As I watched this unfold was wondering is the front office watching this ,too. Yeah, he got away with a bad move, barely. I've seen enough. c'mon Man!
