“Ike Davis made his way around the clubhouse offering farewells on Monday,” Adam Rubin writes to his blog for ESPN New York.
Davis will soon have an MRI in New York on his strained right oblique. Regardless of the results, the team already announced that he will miss the rest of the season.
According to Rubin, Davis will likely head home to Phoenix and rest.
Davis will end his season having hit .205 with nine HR and 33 RBI.

What an anticlimactic ending to what was an incredibly tumultuous, yet underwhelming season for Davis.
I have no idea what the future holds for him. There is a very good chance he is non-tendered this winter, since I’m willing to bet Sandy Alderson no longer thinks Ike’s production is worth the $5.5 million that Davis might be awarded in arbitration this winter. That said, first base is equally a mystery, so the whole situation is up in the air…
