Harold Reynolds has little faith in the Mets

“I don’t see the Mets improving a whole lot. What you are going to do with Reyes and Beltran is the key to the Mets season. Are you going to trade them or keep them? That to me will be the turning point of where the organization goes and not just this season. If they both come back and play like they are capable of, I would be very tempted to move them both because they have a lot more holes. This team they have now is not going to win the division.”

~ Harold Reynolds in a Q&A with the New York Post

He’s right, aside from what’s going on with Ownership, the Reyes-and-Beltran situation will be the dominant storyline this summer, followed by the whereabouts of Johan Santana – and, in some ways, all three stories could end up tying together depending on the team’s cash position. It’ll be even more interesting if the team is winning.
