David Wright turns 30 years old today. He is currently the longest tenured Met by four years over Johan Santana.
Matthew Cerrone, MetsBlog.com:
Yeah, I’m old. David was the first interview I ever did for MetsBlog, back when he was in Binghamton. It’s weird to think how long I’ve known him and how long I’ve been writing MetsBlog (next year is my 10th season, after the starting the blog as a hobby). I mentioned to him the other day how, in addition to being glad he’s going to continue to be on the Mets (because he’s a terrific baseball player), I’m glad he’s going to be on the Mets (because it just wouldn’t feel right writing this blog without him on the Mets). But, damn, 30 years old? It’s crazy how time flies.
