A’s RHP Grant Balfour said he is unsure whether or not he will return to the A’s next year, he told Casey Pratt of Comcast SportsNet.
Balfour, 35, would like to win a World Series before he considers retirement, according to Jane Lee of MLB.com.
Balfour went 1-3 with a 2.59 ERA in 65 relief appearances for the A’s in 2013, allowing 48 hits and 27 walks with 72 strikeouts in 62 2/3 innings.
Balfour is eligible to become a free agent after this season.

Balfour is a really good relief pitcher and his veteran presence could be a very strong fit for the Mets. He relies mostly on a low-to-mid 90s fastball, but will mix in an occasional slider to keep the hitter honest. He has an extended track record of durability, he throws strikes, and is versatile in the bullpen, which is something the Mets badly need.
