Former Met Gary Carter has been diagnosed with four small tumors in his brain, and will be examined at Duke University Hospital in the near future.
According to Bill Madden of the Daily News, it won’t be known whether the tumors are benign or malignant until surgery is performed.
I’m shocked, and my heart goes out to Gary and his family. Carter was my hero when I was a kid, and I remember I used to emulate his batting stance and his catching stance. In fact, I still have my junior Gary Carter jersey from when I was six years old.
I’m hoping he gets through this, and wish him nothing but the best.
