Recap: The Mets defeated the Phillies in the series opener on Friday night, 5-4.
Need to Know: Bartolo Colon picked up the 200th win of his career, giving up just one run over eight innings. The Mets broke open a scoreless tie with four runs in the fourth inning. Juan Lagares, Wilmer Flores, Curtis Granderson and Daniel Murphy all chipped in with one RBI apiece in the four-run fourth. Travis d’Arnaud added to the Mets’ lead with a solo home run in the fifth. Four different Mets had two-hit nights. The bullpen allowed three runs in the ninth but was able to hold on in the win.
