Game 78: Mets vs. Rangers at 3:05 PM ET

Dillon Gee (7-1, 3.25 ERA) will start for the Mets. Gee lost for the first time in his last start when he allowed six walks and four runs in four innings to the A’s last Tuesday in New York. Gee is making his first career appearance against the Rangers today.

Derek Holland (6-2, 4.69 ERA) will start for the Rangers. It’s been an up and down season for Holland so far in 2011 as he’s shown inconsistent command in his 15 starts this season. He pitched well against the Astros last week, allowing three runs in 7 1/3 innings. Holland is making his first career appearance against the Mets today.
