Frank Francisco will likely be shutdown

Terry Collins said there is a “70 percent chance” Frank Francisco will be shutdown, and not pitch again this season, according to MetsBlog’s Michael Baron.

Collins said they intend to evaluate Francisco before tonight’s game against the Pirates – he will play catch during batting practice this afternoon.

Francisco has not pitched since September 16 against the Brewers. He is 1-3 with a 5.53 ERA in 48 games this season with 23 saves in 26 opportunities.
