Frank Francisco has been moved to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster for Triple-A SS Omar Quintanilla.
He had surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow last December. He was shut down in February after experiencing discomfort in his elbow and has been on the disabled list since the end of Spring Training.

The plan was to send Francisco to Double-A a few weeks ago, but he had another set back with his elbow. Doctors said it was fine, but he hasn’t pitched since that exam. Now this… I know it’s a long season and he could return, but it is starting to feel like he’s thrown his last pitch in a Mets uniform.
