The Nationals came back to beat the Mets 9-7, in 10 innings, on Opening Day at Citi Field.
In the 10th inning, Jeurys Familia allowed two hits and a RBI sacrifice fly. John Lannan relieved him, walked one batter, then surrendered a three-run home run to Anthony Rendon.
The Mets added two in the 10th, with David Wright hitting a two-run home run, before Curtis Granderson struck out, for the third time, to end the game. Wright finished the day 3-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Juan Lagares hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th inning and went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Andrew Brown hit a three-run home run in the first inning off Stephen Strasburg.
Dillon Gee started, and allowed four earned runs (one charged to him after he left the game) on four hits and two walks. He struck out five.
The Mets struck out 18 times.
