I just increasingly question Mets scouts, grant it Wilpons don't seem to want to pay for good talent too often, outside of a few splashes here and there. But what is it the  scouts see in some of these guys? Or is it their development staff...?The Bp has been issue for awhile, yet same old story..

How do we start a petition for the wilpons to sell the team? Anyone have any ideas?

So the Nats came to bat in nine innings.  Per this story, Wheeler pitched six innings and the bullpen pitched two innings.  Did Mr. Met pitch the other inning?

Someone should organize a "Occupy Citi Field" or a Walk Out. I know no one will ever try this but why not? The more we buy a ticket, go to the game we feed the wilpons. THEY ARE BROKE. We pay to go and that keeps them feeling like they are doing something right . Why should we keep going to games to see a mediocre Bullpen. A makeshift starting line up that includes but not limited to, not 1 but 2 useless firstbasemen. A second basemen who is out of position. A shortstop wouldn't be able to start on my friends little league team. A catcher who is supposed to be the best C prospect in baseball (that's why he was traded for 2 20 game winners) and a revolving door of outfielders. When is enough enough? When us fans stand up and do something about it.

Don't worry fellow Mets fans. TC is going to give Duda an extended look at 1B. LOL

Relax, we're all Mets fans - this fan base is no stranger to losses, and we all still love our team, regardless.  Having lived through more than my share of abysmal starts, seasons, and line-ups, I have never wavered from my love for this team.  I'm willing to bet that despite all the belly aching that goes on here on the blog, you all feel the same.

If you only root for this team when they win ... you're not a fan.

I just keep telling myself ... " It's only 3 games, it's only 3 games", but it isn't. It feels bigger than that. How could it be this bad? Will things ever change? I am not giving up yet but it does feel bigger and more important than just any ol 3 games. Remember Atlanta in 2012 was awful in April and they came around. I'm not suggesting we are anywhere near as good but there is a lot of ball left. I have this feeling we are gonna go 0-9 to start the year. Please no!

How sad is it that the guy who has no hits yet this season and has played piss poor defense is the guy that just won the first base competition.

Show your disapproval by not giving this father son team of slumlords any of your money. The only thing that talks in this world is dollars. Don't buy tickets, jerseys, consessions. You will live not going to a game this year. The only way they will change if WE put our money where our mouths and keyboards are.

@doubleday  Yes, I am loyal - have been a die-hard fan since 1967 (yes, I'm in my fifties). I hate fairweather fans (I'm also a loyal Knicks fan and Saints fan - just try and be a Saints fan during the 70's and 80's). So love and loyalty are not the issue here - the issue is all fans have a right to bitch and moan. In fact, these blogs and message boards are the perfect place to vent. I, for one, am tired of Terry Collins and have many comments on here in the archives that was against him being hired in the first place. He seems like a good guy but that's not the question, the question is does he have what it takes to be a big league manager and I say, no. I mean we've had losing records and finished 4th all three of his seasons. He seems like the jovial, ineffective uncle who would look the other way when teens stole beer and liquor out of the parent's fridge. So, I root for the Mets all 162 games. But I also feel I have the right to complain and bitch when they play badly. GO METS!

@doubleday  I hear ya I really do. My love never waivers. My disdain for the owners grows more by the day. I can deal with losses. I was born Feb. 87. I've been losing most of my life. Lucky to be in the womb in '86. I can't deal with the owners abusing the fans by refusing to sell a club they can't afford to run properly. Sandy says 90 wins. We don't have a first basemen a shortstop or a functional bullpen. We are told finances aren't an issue yet our payroll keeps shrinking. It is very very very sad what is going on in Queens.

@doubleday  It's tough, though, when you have terrible owners who consistently find ways to screw things up. Every team goes through down times, but this is different.

@Ari  I like the idea of a petition, but the best way to voice our displeasure and disappointment in what this organization has turned in to is to stop giving the Wilpon's money.  No going to games and spending 100 bucks with my wife to watch garbage, no more buying hats, tee shirts, sweatshirts, nothing.  that is the only way to get to the Wilpon's is though their walletts

Doubleday

@pepper @doubleday  Nice double clutch on the comment, Pepper - did you learn that from Ike Davis' swing?

.. and your comment makes no sense.

Doubleday
Doubleday

@metsjetsdu @doubleday  It is sad, but it's still the Mets.  I"m guessing that you didn't live through the 70s with this team.  After Seaver left there would be maybe 1200 people at Shea Stadium for a game.  The team was disgraceful, the post-Payson front office was absurd, and instead of Mr. Met, they actually tried to woo fans with a mule.  I promise you that whatever is going on now because of the Wilpons pales in comparison to the M. Donald Grant era.

Nail on the head! This is the biggest problem for this organization. Without an ownership change expect more of the same.

Didn't realize Baseball America and other national publications were all anti-Omar Sandy worshipers. We can point to many Alderson mistakes, but the Wheeler-Beltran trade isn't one of them. The guy Giants wanted to trade, outfielder Gary Brown, may not even make the majors.

ponzies86

@brockl @ponzies86  Wheeler is not going to be anything but a middle of the rotation guy! wake up! you fools dont know anything! If Mets can package a deal for him I say DO IT! we have better arms in the farm

You basically couldn't stop praising a mediocre effort by Colon yet Wheeler posts similar numbers today and he sucks? @ponzies86 @Eric Koeller@jamets He's made 18 major league starts.  Maybe he'll get there, maybe he won't.  But you can't tell shat after 18 starts.  Talk to me in 3 years and we'll know what Wheeler is.  Until then, you're just spewing nonsense.

@ponzies86 @jamets  YES THEY WERE! Last year when their ship was sailing they couldn't shut up about what a mistake the Wheeler trade was when they needed the pitching. Difference is, when the GM in San Fran makes a mistake, the word doesn't come to an end

@ponzies86 @jamets 4 days ago you were trying to convince me that the Mets bullpen was good.

So forgive me if I don't have a lot of faith in your player evaluation skills.
