Pedro Feliciano was tagged for an earned run as Scott Atchison relieved him in an inning of work and let his inherited run score.
Frank Francisco allowed two earned runs in his inning of work. David Aardsma allowed a run – on a solo home run – in his 2/3 inning of work
The Mets surrendered 13 home runs to the Nationals over the series. They hit none.
Daniel Murphy and Anthony Recker each drove in a run with RBI singles. Recker added a one-out single in the 9th. Eric Young had two hits and a walk. Ruben Tejada went 0-3 with two left on base.
