The Mets defeated the Astros, 6-2, in Port St. Lucie tonight.
Justin Turner left tonight’s game with a strained left calf. Zach Lutz replaced him at third base.
Jon Niese pitched 4.1 shut-out innings, while striking out seven out of 17 batters.

I’m getting very intrigued by Byrd and what he might bring to the table in the regular season. Again, simply getting on base 33% of the time, stealing some bases and maybe driving in 70 runs or so will end up being a big decent addition… as crazy as that sounds.
The next time we see these Mets in a game on TV it will be Opening Day…
By the way, I know I’m a broken record on this, but I really dig how the white jerseys look without names on the back, which you see on low-level rookies in these games. It’s not important. It doesn’t matter. I just like it best. Carry on…
