Can we just say Lannan's 100% not going to be in the starting rotation. He'll prob still get the last LHP spot in the pen, but his starting chances have totally disappeared for the time being.

We are in trouble. I think an improvement in many teams, Miami, Houston, are young teams on the rise. We are a Veteran team with many failed Veterans. We have younger Vets that do not perform. Top to players over 30 and the only youth is Lagares, d'Darneu, and they don't hit. No young pitching in the rotation. BP iffy, Black gets rocked regularly as does German. Familia has not pitched well in majors so far, we'll see. I do not see the building for the Future here nor the resources. If Harvey was here this year what would be different? 4-5 more wins or lots of no decisions like last year due to lack of offense. Ask yourself what would our record be with Harvey, 78 wins? Do not buy the nonsense that our year is now 2015. More BS.

With the exception for the incredible amount of hype surrounding Wheeler and Syndergaard, I don't see anything happening during Spring Training that would make me excited about the coming season (and definitely not optimistic about coming close to 90 wins).

1.  Niese has had two injury scares that have set back his preparation in such a way that he will start the season on the DL.

2.  Both left hand hitting first basemen have had nagging phantom injuries that have kept them from their big "competition" for most of Spring Training.

3.  Lannan and Mejia have been shelled, and Dice-K has been .... Dice-K.

4.  Colon has been less than impressive.

5.  The bullpen has been disappointing.

6.  Outside of reading a box score, has anyone heard anything about how dArneau has been playing?

7.  Fat camp or not, Tejada has not improved from last season.

8.  Nobody in this organization seems to want to give Wilmer Flores a decent chance.

9.  Wright and Murphy have had less than a dozen at bats each.

10. Chris Young finally hit a home run the other day.

Need I say more?

Lannon is the guy they want to pay instead of giving Mejia or Montero a shot. Ugh.

The Mets are 0-5 v the Marlins this spring. 8-5-2 against everyone else.

A little perspective, other than the SS, there was not one guy in this line-up who is expected to start opening day.

rather see john lennon than john lannan

Seratelli baby, I'm rooting for this guy, he's italian, from the area, career minor leaguer, great story.  Out of Q and tejeda, he's the clear favorite.

I just can't understand how anyone thinks the Mets pitching staff, starters, bullpen, apart, together, can be considered a strength.

Is it just me, or when you hear Lannan, you think of Paul Newman calling Robert Shaw's character, "Lanolin", in the Sting?

The score wasn't as close as it looked.  It's going to be another long, terrible year....

Not a fan of Lannan.  (even if his last name sounds like a deodorant)

I can't wait for MIA to trade Stanton...even if it's not to us, as long as it's not in the NL East.

Getting Stanton off the Marlins will be worth 4-5 Met wins right there...

@eric88  Please stop posting. You can't even spell our current players.. not to mention delineating our current prospects. .

@eric88  Lol.  Really eric?  We are not a vet team.  We have a TON of young pitching on the way.  The potential to have dominant starting rotation in 2015.  We will build around that, DW, and Grandy.  This year is a bit of wash.  Next year we will add a quality SS through FA.  I am not a fan of Sandy or this Owndership.  But you need to chill with the doom and gloom.

@flmetsfan You forgot to mention Grandy hit 2 HRs in his 1st ST game and I don't think he's had even another hit since.

@flmetsfan Spring training is meaningless- if they were undefeated and Tejada was hitting .500 I wouldn't be any more excited than I am now.  The only good news is that we haven't had any catastrophic injuries like say, the Braves.

flmetsfan

@newyorker9 Then I guess you would rather see Anthony Recker catch rather than dArneau.  Come on dude, Seratelli is dumpster fodder.

@Mike Dell Italia And an Italian from the area are your only qualifications for a major league roster.  Where you one of those guys complaining about all the Latin players on the roster a few years ago?

@ponzies86 No, put liniment in Lannan's jock. Then tell him, get bombed again and you'll get hit with more hot stuff. o.k., sorry that was a wee bit mean.

ken1010

Yes. And Terry won't stop using him till he has lost 10 games. Lannan should be behind Montero as well as Mejia.

@pochemu  I'm assuming the whole team who played in Vegas over the weekend got the day off. I read they didn't get back to Fla until today.

@exileinla  better he hits the Dingers off the Mets now..(when it doesn't count)

@anymos   Spring Training  can be meaningless or meaningful. In this case for allot of guys its the latter. Of the guys that hit .200 nobody has shown improvement at this stage and that is alarming.
