ESPN: MLB preparing to suspend players linked to Biogenesis, Cesar Puello named

Cesar Puello 1 polaroidMajor League Baseball is preparing to suspend players linked to the Biogenesis steroid scandal, according to T.J. Quinn and Pedro Gomez of ESPN.

MLB may seek up to a 100-game ban for players like Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun, according to ESPN.

Cesar Puello, a Mets prospect currently playing for Double-A Binghamton, is named in the report. He is the only non-Major League player named.

Puello, 22, is hitting .302, with a .380 OBP, nine doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 33 RBI in 46 games this season.

Ex-Met Fernando Martinez, who was DFA’d by the Houston Astros last month, is also named.
