Terry Collins said Friday that Eric Young, Jr. could be activated from the disabled list by next Monday.
Young, who’s been on the disabled list with a strained right hamstring since May 25, is set to continue his rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Friday night.
When Young returns, it’s likely that he’ll be replacing either Andrew Brown or Matt den Dekker on the roster.
4:27 pm: Eric Young Jr. should eventually move his rehab to Triple-A Las Vegas, Terry Collins said Thursday.
3:38 pm: Young played left field and went 1-for-4 with a walk in a rehab game with Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday.
He has been on the disabled list since May 25 with a right hamstring strain.
Young was hitting .220 with eight extra base hits, seven RBI and 17 stolen bases before going on the DL.
The Mets are 18-16 in games when Young is in the starting lineup.
