Dillon Gee to make rehab start with Cyclones on Sunday

Dillon Gee, on the disabled list since May 11 with a right lat injury, is scheduled to make a rehab start on Sunday in Single-A Brooklyn.

Gee made his first rehab start for the GCL Mets on Tuesday, tossing two scoreless innings.

With the Cyclones on Sunday, Gee is expected to throw 30 warm-up pitches before throwing 55 during the game (Rubin, June 26).

If all goes well in Brooklyn, Gee would need one more rehab start before his activation from the DL, which would likely come during the second week of July.

When Gee rejoins the starting rotation, the expectation is that Daisuke Matsuzaka will move back to the bullpen.
