Dillon Gee 1

Dillon Gee made a rehab start Tuesday for the GCL Mets

Dillon Gee tossed two scoreless innings Tuesday during a rehab start with the GCL Mets (Rubin, June 24).

Gee allowed one hit and struck out two.

It was Gee’s first game action since being placed on the disabled list on May 11 with a right lat injury.

The expectation is that Gee will make two more rehab starts before being activated from the disabled list.

If Gee gets through his next two rehab starts without a setback, he’ll likely rejoin the Mets in a little over two weeks.

I bet German will be sent down when Gee is ready to come back in a couple weeks.

Mets have recalled d'Arnaud and placed Teagarden on the DL with strained hamstring. Wow what luck for the Mets that they couldn't decide whether to option Recker or DFA Teagarden and he just happened to hurt his hammy and need to go on the DL today

Awesome! Trade him! Get rid of anyone who's contributing to the team in favor of mid-level prospects!

The Mets are going to make a nice little run here. I feel it!

So will the Mets trade with SF and/or Toronto, as the rumor thrown out here yesterday suggests?

Who can we get from those teams and what will they cost?

There weren't many legitimate answers yesterday, so how about today?

if all goes well he will return july 12th...gives him 3 starts to prove his health before trading him

@Brian Webster How does anyone expect the mets to make significant trades and signings when the manager needs 1 1/2 hrs to make a lineup card the Gm is losing sleep over Recker and Teagarden. The same teams that were interested in the following released players will be interested Batista Carrasco Lyons Ankiel Francisco Eamus. It is embarrassing its not like he is saving Nick Evans.

@Brian Webster I mean Teagarden and Recker are quality catchers and can be starters on most teams

in the independent league

None today either. Maybe Mets fans just like to betch?

@mets2014 Not sure if that will be enough time to get the type of value the Mets would want for Gee. It is pretty much a sure bet that Colon gets traded. Dice-K is another possibility for trade.

@mets2014 I'd much rather see Colon have a few more good starts then trade him.  As good as he's been lately, he is obviously not part of the future but he could definitely help a contender this year.  If they can get a decent bat back and unload his contract, they'd have to do it.

@hankincolo He must've tweaked in running away from Sandy trying to tell him he was going to be DFA'd

@Brian Webster @hankincolo All teams ask a player, ...are you hurt? Does something hurt? Wait, what about that leg thing you had?

Well uh, it's kind of sore. BINGO!  It's off to the DL for you my boy, can never be too careful about those sort of things.

@hankincolo  Yeah well if the options for Teagarden are to be DFA'd and play in AAA for the Mets or some other team or keep collecting a MLB paycheck on the DL for a min of 2 more weeks and then who knows what happens after that it's a pretty obvious choice.
