Dillon Gee delivers

Dillon Gee expected back soon

Dillon Gee tossed 2 2/3 innings — 55 pitches — in a rehab start for Single-A Brooklyn on Sunday.

He allowed one run on four hits and a walk, while striking out six, against the Staten Island Yankees.

The Mets said this past weekend that Gee will likely make on more rehab start before being activated from the disabled list.

He has been on DL since May 11 with a strained lat muscle on his right side.

SNY has highlights and reaction after Gee’s rehab start for the Cyclones on Sunday, and Gee talks about returning to the Mets rotation >> Watch here

55 pitches in 2 1/2 innings against an A ball team? Don't sound good to me.

Poor deGrom. He's pitched better than Wheeler lately. Oh well, Gee is a welcome return for sure.
