Dice-K getting tests on elbow in New York

Daisuke Matsuzaka is back in New York having tests on his elbow, Terry Collins said on Friday.

Dice-K felt pain in his elbow. He will have an MRI.

Matsuzaka allowed three earned runs — on two home runs — in two innings on Thursday. This season, he has a 3.87 ERA in 74 1/3 innings.

Place Dice K on the DL and call back Kirk (doesn't have to wait 10 days) then release Abreu and bring up a reliever.  Regarding Flores, I like him and want him to succeed.  TC said last week that he needs to play everyday and he shouldn't come up to be a bench player.  So, what do they do?  They bring him back to be a bench player.

Get rid of him already give the kids a chance!  Dice k time has come and gone

Hate to be insensitive but can we just bid him a fond farewell and bring-up one of the kids for the last two months of yet another meaningless season? Has anyone actually been WATCHING this guy pitch? Plus we never got to see the infamous gyroball.

Flores, den Dekker, Kirk, Brown and a whole bunch more have to pray to be traded. Just give a kid a chance. CY and Abreu to the bus stop. Bring up Kirk and den dekker again and put them in the mix.   The irregularity of the playing time of the prospects should be enough to be fired.  Kick ass in Vegas, get called up, play a game or two, then sit for a week. Except pinch hit lefty on lefty of Kirk. Can we send TC to Vegas???  Maybe Wally can straighten him out as well.

Will this open the doors for a trade to get Antonio Bastardo?  We need a Bastardo on the team.

Wow, Terry, burned out yet another. This is the same Moron that is starting Tejada tonite.

Dice K has been a pleasant surprise for us this season as both a starter and reliever. Maybe Noah will be promoted?

Does that mean Torrez gets the Dice K innings?  They should rename the team, "Carlos Torrez and the Mets"

Well, if Dice goes on DL, Wilmer better have his bags packed. They'll hop on the excuse that they need another reliever. Is clear he won't be playing much anyway.

Didn't Terry say he knew nothing about Dice K being hurt during the post game yesterday? Terry is not sounding good of late. Two days ago after the Seattle game where Tejada got hurt, he insisted that there would be no roster moves forthcoming. The next day Flores showed up as the starting SS.

Good luck to Dice K. He's been terrific for the Mets this season.

Looking at our "pitching depth" it seems to be made of glass; Neise, Gee, Harvey, Hafner, et all, can ANYONE make 32 starts a year after year anymore? We need 5 Colons actually!!

Better get our All Star surgeon up in the bullpen.

@Kenneth Meltsner Have you been watching him pitch?  He's done everything they've asked him to do and that's probably the problem.  He would warm up for ever - and going back and forth from the bullpen to rotation back to the bullpen, so it's not a shocker that he might be in trouble  And now, they're starting Tejada after flying him with a possible concussion, but maybe he's alright.  But hey, that was quite a hit on the noggin he took.

But I get what you are saying about wanting to see the kids pitch.  So do I, if they are healthy and ready.

Just FYI, Kirk and Brown didn't exactly tear the cover off the ball. Kirk was also hit less in 11 at bats post ASB.

@eric88 Moron, Dice-K has pitched over 2100 INNINGS of baseball.

Yep. The mets are the only team where pitchers hurt their elbow. Never happens to the braves or Yankees. Idiot.

@kefhrny17 Only one explanation. Flores is flucking Collins' daughter.

Yes, according to Rubin: Tejada back at SS; Abreu in LF.

@Cheryl Ann Boogaard they can only call him up and send him down so many times before they have to set him free. Its called "options". I think Wilmer will be here for a while.

@1harris1 Terry sounded exhausted in the post-game last night. Maybe he has that stomach flu some of the players have gotten, he really seemed out of it.  LIke him or not he's usually a pretty energetic peppy fella

@kefhrny17 100% agree.  Abreu and C. Young have to go.  Bring up Kirk to be a 4th OF as he is the only guy (Matt DD too) that can give Lagares a breather which he desperately needs.  Although he's not having a good year, bring up Puello.  He's the only guy near the bigs that has 5 tools.
