Jacob deGrom threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Sunday morning and told reporters his shoulder is fine.
He said he expected to return from the disabled list and start Saturday against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
DeGrom went on the DL with right shoulder soreness after a start against the Nationals on Aug. 9. He also played catch and threw from 90 feet on Saturday at Citi Field.
“We were just seeing how it felt,” deGrom told reporters. “I threw changeups when I was playing catch, and those felt fine. Either Tuesday or Wednesday I’ll throw everything.”
DeGrom is 6-5 with a 2.87 ERA this season for the Mets.
