Latest outfield rumors from the Winter Meetings

The Diamondbacks, White Sox and Angels have completed a three-team deal. The Angels sent OF Mark Trumbo and players to be named later to Arizona. The Diamondbacks have sent OF Adam Eaton to the White Sox, LHP Tyler Skaggs to the Angels, and the White Sox have sent RHP Hector Santiago to the Angels (Morosi, Dec. 10).

Now that Chicago has acquired Eaton, they could look to trade OF Alejandro De Aza (Rogers, Dec. 10).

Now that Arizona has acquired Trumbo, they aren’t likely to sign free agent OF Shin-Soo Choo. However, Scott Boras’ asking price for Choo is still high, and too high for the Rangers (Sullivan, Dec. 10).

The Phillies are not motivated to move OF Domonic Brown, but would consider moving him for two or three young players in return (Stark, Dec. 10).

The Orioles have targeted some of the Marlins outfielders in trade (Encina, Dec 10).

The Rays and Rangers could swap OF Matt Joyce for 1B Mitch Moreland, but it’s not clear if that deal has any traction (Stark, Dec. 10).

Free agent OF Rajai Davis has agreed to a two-year deal with the Tigers (Nicholson-Smith).

Lastly, free agent OF Jason Bay could be headed to Japan to play for the Yomiuri Giants (Johns, Dec. 10).

Good now Matt Cerrone can erase his next 10 posts about how the mets and trumbo make a good fit!

It looks like the projections for Choo are topping $100M. Where are all the yokels that were on here screaming that he wouldn't get near the $90M that Pence got and that he would be lucky to get the 4 year $60M deal that Granderson just got. Please come out of the wood work and stand by your predictions. There were some folks on here that got downright nasty when you tried to tell them that Choo was going to get one of the top deals of the off season.

Asdrubal Cabrera - SS - Indians

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Indians are willing to listen to trade proposals for Asdrubal Cabrera.

Cabrera will make $10 million in 2014 before hitting free agency, so the Indians are seeing what's out there. The 28-year-old hit .242/.299/.402 with 14 home runs, 64 RBI and nine stolen bases over 136 games this past season.

If the Rays pull a trade with another team for a 1st baseman it will be VERY dificult for the Mets to trade Davis and/or Duda.

Isn't Trumbo a Davis clone without the history of hitting 30 homeruns?

I wish Jason well i know he struggled here but he hustled when he hit the ball . I am not going to bad mouth him i know he struggled but the effort was always there. I wish him the best.

@dumdeeduda I thought 60-75million because every indication during the season hinted at that. If he gets his money then good for him

@dumdeeduda I kept telling people he was going to get probably 2-3 mil per year less than whatever ellsbury got...which to me put him around 17-18 per year. I didn't think he'd get the same in term of years.  But I said this at the beginning of the offseason, when people were saying they thought he might get 12-13 mil per year and I kept being like you're crazy if you think that.  I'd love to pull up some of my posts...  I've had this market pegged all offseason.  For better or worse.  (Aside from CY.  WTF was that aberration of a signing?)

I think I said 5/75 or 6/90.  I never expected the market to jump like this.

@Ron Davis I just don't have interest in Cabrera, unless we're not giving up a ton for him.  And I'm hearing the Indians are asking for an arm and a leg for him. Thanks but no thanks.

I think it will be difficult to get a decent return, but some AL team will give us a bag of balls or 30 year old soft tossing middle reliever in high A ball.

not really, in 3 seasons Trumbo has hit 29 or more HR every year.  He is also right handed and can play 1b or RF.  and hes still real young.  we should be in on trumbo

Ike wishes he could be Trumbo at this point. Trumbo has hit 29, 32, and 34 home runs the past three seasons.

The Mets should be all over Trumbo he is the cleanup hitter this team has lacked since Piazza. They dont come on the market very often.

@Broke Fred Wilpon @DMMP Lineup - EYJ (2B), Gardner, Wright, Abreu, Granderson, Duda (Or Ike) Lagares, Tejada (or another SS)  - I quite like this 2-5

@Broke Fred Wilpon @DMMP I absolutely agree with you on this one.  And then we'd be looking to trade for an OF... Which there is an easy available solution out there for a trade partner for OF's in the Yankees right now.  Murph and a B level minor leaguer for Gardner.  I'd call that improved across the board for similar money.

@Broke Fred Wilpon @DMMP I agree with you 100% on Abreu.  Duda is not going to released, since he apparently has some value (it's the same reason Davis wasn't released. - Going into the offseason I thought about releasing both of them flat out and saving on their arbitration money. But since it seems they have some value...) But as it is and as you've suggested really... the only thing the mets have not done that you like is sign abreu, which I essentially agree with.  (I'm not a fan of the Chris Young signing but I see it's value.)

@DMMP I would have signed Abreu and outright released Duda and traded Ike for a bag of baseballs.

If they did that, the middle of the order would be Wright, Granderson, Abreu and Young.

THAT i could live with.

*what would you

@Broke Fred Wilpon @Lee Lewin Most teams in baseball don't have an outfield that will put up 100 home runs. In fact.... name one?  --- 100 RBIs?  If Curtis Granderson just plays like AVERAGE granderson, he'll surpass 100 RBI's.  Sorry. Terrible argument.  Given apparent budget limitations. What you you prefer this team had done?  So far based on this market, only thing I wish the mets had done thus far that they have not was take a flyer on Abreu.
