The Rays are looking for a left-handed first baseman, according to manager Joe Maddon on MLB Network Radio yesterday. Obviously Ike Davis fits that criteria, but Moreland does as well. Moreland has his issues, but he’s been more consistent than Ike and is probably more appealing as a result. That, along with Morrison’s growing market could negatively impact Sandy Alderson’s ability to deal either Davis or Lucas Duda. And, if the first base supply continues to increase, it will certainly lessen the front office’s ability to net a significant return.
10:44 am: The Marlins are interested in INF Juan Uribe (Rosenthal).
9:36 am: 2B Omar Infante’s asking price is higher than $8 million per year and a multi-year deal (Olney).
