David Wright wants to go to the playoffs

David Wright told WFAN’s Mike Francesa on Tuesday that his goal this season, and every season, is to make the playoffs (WFAN, Mar. 11).

“I want to go to the playoffs, everyone’s goal here is to go to the playoffs,” he said.

According to Wright, he believes the Mets have the ability to make the postseason, so long as everyone delivers the kind of season each player is capable of having.

“I’m not talking career years, just go out there and have the seasons we’re all capable of having,” he said.

Should have though of that before extending with the New York Mets

Laughable notion. I'd put the Mets at about a 1% chance of making it. Not impossible but might as well be.

Not with our lineup. Other than David....the offense will be easy to pitch against with no dangerous hitters to strike fear in the opposing team. We have needed a SS since we let Reyes walk away while getting nothing in return....and we've needed some big bats for YEARS!!!!!! This is not a good way to start the season with so many holes and questions marks. Didn't SA say at the end of last season this team would not be same again. Looks like same old same old to me.

What, Wright's getting traded to a contender. Who are the Mets getting?

He will first have to find out who gets in and then buy his tickets on STUB HUB. They won't be at CITI.

If he stays with the Mets, David Letterman has a better chance!!!!!

Try stubhub or score big. He can get tickets no problem. As for this team in 2014, it is not going to be over .500. No OF power, no SS, no 1B, no middle relief and no set up man and closer in stone. Can you say 74 and 88? AGAIN!

Why do you guys think the Yankees are going to the playoffs?

It'll be more special if he makes it as a Met. No better high than that.

If 4 batters dont swing at everything. And we have 6 good strike out pitchers. Well go far

I should hope so! Who doesn't but it ain't happening with our Mets. Notice he says wants not will

I would think they would all want that. Not enough parity in baseball.

He's a major leaguer, so it should be easy to score tickets.

Buy the new MLB videogame, force-trade the entire Mets roster to other teams and then pray to the Mets God that back office management doesn't decide to tank them anyway.

He might want to go to the playoffs, but he'll never get there as a met

I can't listen to Wright interviews, some of the things he said were ridiculous..Sounds like a puppet. I wonder what he'll say after another 70 win season

Actually, he did get there as a Met. Seems like ancient history, but it did happen.
