David Wright is in PSL, glad Mets have Ike Davis

“I am so glad that we didn’t sell low on Ike Davis,” David Wright told Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio. “The biggest thing with Ike in my opinion is the confidence.”

Wright arrived in Port St. Lucie on Thursday, weeks before the team’s official report date.

No doubt that Ike has talent. And I'm sure Rob Martin that the confidence issues has been spoken to Ike numerous times. After he had that freak accident it has clearly messed with his head. Clearly a lot of people think he has ability. Heck in 2012 every fantasy baseball draft I took part in this guy was drafted in early rounds so clearly people believe he can hit a baseball. When he gets a hold of one its not a ball just clearing the wall, he hits moon shots! I for one would be disappointed if Ike didt get one more shot. Try go getting a 1st baseman on the cheap capable of hitting 30-40 hrs. It ain't happening. I for one am rooting for ya Ike..

All I'm saying, is if I was Ike, and I did the necessary mechanical and mental work to get back to where he was before he broke his foot, it would be totally on the dl. I would want opposing pitchers to pitch me just like last year. If Ike finally improves, it will be from the six or seven hole, and that becomes a huge benefit.

Confidence huh? Maybe he should've told him that last year?? smdh

He came to Port St. Lucie 3 weeks early? He should have brought Ike with him.

maybe, just maybe, Ike will go into camp not thinking he has to be the 2nd bat behind Wright (grany, murph, and maybe even darnaud can take pressure off him) and he can just bat 6th or 7th with a clear head and put up some nice numbers....

a guy can hope, right?

I feel Davis is the only serious candidate for first base currently on the team.. I feel Duda and the other guy don't even belong in camp. Davis is bad enough.
