In last night’s 8-2 loss to the Padres, David Aardsma allowed four runs in two innings of relief of Jenrry Mejia.
Aardsma entered the game in the fourth inning with the score tied 1-1, but left after the fifth trailing 5-2.
Aardsma has also blown a save in the absence of Bobby Parnell, who remains sidelined with a herniated disk in his neck.
Since the All-Star Break, Aardsma has a 7.84 ERA, having allowed 13 hits, seven walks, nine earned runs and three home runs in only 10 1/3 innings.
Overall, Aardsma has a 4.50 ERA in 28 relief appearances with the Mets this season.
