Daniel Murphy felt a pop in his shoulder during his at-bat in the eighth inning, Terry Collins told reporters tonight.
4:55 pm: Murphy has a posterior strain of his right shoulder, and will an MRI performed on Monday, according to Anthony McCarron of the Daily News.
Murphy said after the game his shoulder felt more like it spasmed than popped. He still expects to be ready for Tuesday’s game in Philadelphia.
Ronny Cedeno replaced Murphy at second base in the ninth inning.
