D-Backs in active discussions to trade Justin Upton

“The Diamondbacks are most interested in a shortstop, a third baseman and pitching,”¬†according to CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman, who says there is lots of buzz at the GM Meetings that Arizona could soon trade OF Justin Upton.

Also reporting from the GM Meetings, the New York Post’s Joel Sherman says, ‘there is a strong feeling Upton will be traded,’ with the Rangers seemingly the front runner.

10:54 pm:¬†In addition to the Yankees, Red Sox, Indians and Braves, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic says four new teams have been added to Upton’s no-trade list, although they have not been specified publicly.

However, in a separate tweet, Piecoro says Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers will still talk with those teams on Upton’s no-trade list, and has in fact already talked with one of those four new teams.
