Terry Collins said Collin McHugh will get another start this season, according to SNY’s Matt Dunn.
McHugh is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA in two starts for the Mets this season. He made a relief appearance on Saturday in Milwaukee and allowed a run in 2/3 of an inning.
Michael Baron, MetsBlog.com:
Last Monday on the Post Game show, Bobby Ojeda broke down McHugh’s delivery, and it was clear McHugh’s arm angle was different on his fastball than it is for his curveball. He had the same issue during his relief appearance on Saturday as well. I do think he has a real good curve and, if he can develop some consistency with his delivery and refine his other secondary pitches, he can undoubtedly be an effective Major League pitcher in the future. However, nobody, especially pitchers like McHugh who don’t throw hard, can telegraph their pitches and survive at the big league level.
