Citi Small Business Call Ups winner announced

After two weeks of voting, fans elected Corfu Grill to become the newest member of Citi Field’s culinary lineup with an outfield concourse location beginning Fourth of July weekend, as part of the Citi Small Business Call-Ups program.

The first-ever program gave three local restaurants in New York City a once-in-a-lifetime chance to showcase their business and “take over” a concession stand at Citi Field. As part of an effort to bring New York’s favorite flavors to the Mets’ ballpark, Citi nominated a trio of restaurants that also included Ceetay of the Bronx and Lady M Confections of Manhattan.

“Citi Small Business Call-Ups is a unique opportunity to leverage our valued relationship with the New York Mets, create a one-of-a-kind platform for one of our small business clients to market their business, and bring the rich flavors and culture of New York into Citi Field” said Robert Kleiber, head of Small Business at Citi.

Corfu Grill will benefit from first-hand exposure to hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, as well as promotion through Citi-owned signage at the ballpark, media outreach, advertising and social media. Nestled on the upper level of the popular shopping center on Austin Street, Corfu Grill has entrees from the land and the sea, as well as plenty of pasta and vegetarian options. They’re well-known for tender chicken kebabs, accompanied by a Greek salad, lemon potatoes and rice

"Corfu Grill will benefit from first-hand exposure to hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers"  Isn't this a typo? should just read "hundreds of New Yorkers"

I used to live in Forest Hills and Corfu is highly mediocre. Perfect match for the Mets

Well, if Terry Collins has his way, Corfu Grill will be closed frequently so it can learn by watching the other vendors handle themselves as big leaguers. After a day of good sales, they will be shuttered for the next ten days, open again for two more days before ultimately being sent to open in Las Vegas, never to be seen in NY again.

Too bad hardly anyone will be there to buy food from them.

Could we have some editorials on how to improve this club instead? Such as what it would take to get an IF from the Cubs, especially now after that blockbuster trade?

Citigroup needs some positive PR after they were caught laundering that Mexican drug money back in April.  Opening up a tofu stand is a wise move.
