Chris Young left game with a leg cramp

Mets OF Chris Young left Monday’s game in the eighth inning with cramping in his left calf, the Mets said.

“I felt it a few steps out of the box and tried to kind of push through it and it seemed like it went away,” said Young (ESPN, July 22). “I think I made the right decision coming out of the game, for sure, just to try to catch it before anything went wrong. So hopefully with the ice and some rest tonight I show up tomorrow and it feels normal.”

Young is batting .200 with six extra base hits in his last 40 games.

Like we're going to miss him-Don't get me wrong-I don't wish bad on anybody or injury but a headline could have been "good news,Chris young leaves the game in the 8th inning

Anything that gets this guy out of the lineup, out of left field, off the bench is fine with me.

He is truly like a period, he is active ONCE a month and there ARE strings attached.....

It's as though he hasn't been here anyway. He doesn't do anything at the plate, so what's the difference now?

Terry Collins diagnosed with brain cramp after repeatedly playing Chris Young.

Nick Catino

The sad part is he hardly plays and has the same amount of Home Runs as Wright does. What does that say about Wright?

The young players give me some excitement about the future of the Mets. I love to see them play, no matter what their failures are. I know they will be learning.

Watching Chris Young play is very painful. Going no where fast and no future. Yes mistake....move on.

Best thing for him would be to be released ... still gets paid by mets, and another team might give him a shot at league minimum.

In the end, he just can no longer catch up to a MLB fastball.  Even his HR "spree" last week were all off speed hangers.

Sandy got lucky.

Good. Sandy can keep his promise to CY by letting him ride out the rest of the season on the double secret extended DL along with Taylor Teagarden. I bet you forgot about Teagarden already, didn't you, our catcher Sandy is paying not to catch anywhere..

I learned from a Blue Jays player you have to eat bananas to avoid cramps :-)

BTW, anybody have a clue as to how many ABs CYoung was promised by Alderson? SNY should feature a count down clock so that we will know when the milestone has been reached.

@Nick Catino That says that Wright was alot better hitter when surrounded by players like Reyes, Floyd, Beltran, Delgado, Valentin and LoDuca.....than he is with Duda, Tejada, Granderson and Murphy.

@Mike Herrington I was excited to see Flores come up and get a real shot....but then TC decided that Tejada was the answer instead.....

@Doubleday Teagarden played for Vegas last night, they called it a "rehab start" but there is still no timetable for his return from the DL.
