OF Chris Young has rejoined the Mets in Phoenix (ESPN, April 16).

He is eligible to come off the disabled list on Friday, when the Mets return to Citi Field and welcome the Braves for a three-game series.

I actually hope Ike is sent down on Fri, when CY returns.  It seems silly to have him in AAA, but it's almost more wasteful to keep him on the bench.

Sending down Kirk would remove another outfielder from the equation.  I know it's a small sample size (1 game), but taking yesterday and his hot AAA start into the equation, he seems like he could be an asset to the team.  Sending down Brown would significantly hurt the bench by removing a righty, leaving them awfully thin(ner).

If Ike isn't going to start, and Sandy can't (or won't) trade him, he belongs in AAA.

send brown to AAA and keep kirk of the bench when grandy and chris are back

Hopefully Grandy will be back by then too and with Kirk in center we should be OK until Lagares returns

Captain Kirk will go straight to the bench when Chris Young and Granderson come back on Friday.

@Steve Mets are paying way too much for Ike to send him down--I doubt they'll do that. Now they may trade Ike, but Mets are demanding a good pitcher in return.

Agreed on both fronts. It would make a lot of sense to send down Ike and see what he can do in Vegas. Given his salary, they'll likely let him languish on the bench. If Duda continues to hit though, they'll have to do something with him (and his trade value isn't going to increase from inactivity).

@queva @Steve  I think it's possible they bite the bullet here, but you're probably right.  I just think it's the wrong move to send down Brown - essentially leaving Satin as the only RH bat on the bench (since they very likely wouldn't use Recker as a PH), or reduce their flexibility by sending down Kirk.
