Mitchell Boggs signs with White Sox

RHP Mitchell Boggs will sign a major-league deal with the Chicago White Sox (Rosenthal).

Boggs will sign for one-year and $1.1 million (Morosi).

The Mets had shown interested in the reliever in December (MetsBlog, Dec. 9), but nothing ever came to fruition between the two.

This is just another example of people taking speculation too literally. It gets posted here that the team has interest in a player and readers take that as if its imminent. There are probably just as many players that they've inquired on that we will never know about. Just because its posted here over and over doesn't mean they "missed out"...we have no idea how serious they ever were, if at all.

i do not feel a big lost i feel somehow he will be released during season so we should have more chances.

My problem is that they show interest then the deal brakes down or the player think that the mets suck....the only signing that made me happy this off season was the grandyman seriously! I do wanna see a better shortstop but can Drew be a right fit for the mets....In my personal view no! Jeez sandy sign Emilio or drew already!!!! Anything to make met fans happy!

Fruition ? We sign Farnsworth to a minor league deal, I hope he has something left in the tank.

Plus you don't "miss out" when you don't sign Boggs; you luck out.
