Baseball America’s finds All-Star’s scouting reports

Baseball America compiled a list of scouting reports on this year’s All-Stars, from before they were in the majors.

The clip on Daniel Murphy is from after the 2007 season:  “A below-average runner, he is more likely to move to first base than the outfield if his defense and/or David Wright’s presence in New York forces the issue at third. The problem is Murphy’s gap-to-gap power doesn’t profile well at a less challenging position, though optimistic scouts believe he might hit 20 homers annually.”

There are also reports on former Mets prospects Scott Kazmir and Carlos Gomez. >> Read more at Baseball America
