Bartolo Colon

Bartolo Colon had a stiff back, will make next start

1:03 pm: Bartolo Colon will start this Saturday against the Braves, Terry Collins told reporters in Arizona on Wednesday.

6:05 am: Colon has been getting treatment for a stiff back, the same issue that put him on the disabled list in 2008, he said (ESPN, Apr. 15).

Colon let up nine earned runs, including four home runs, in last start against the Angels.

Sandy Alderson acknowledged the treatment and said he expects Colon to make his next start (Carig, Apr. 15).

Chewing accident?

This is a major red flag. This kind of thing can linger. That's $10M that we won't be seeing again. Just give him some rest and start Dice-K.

If he has to miss a start, who takes it?  Matsuzaka, Montero or DeGrom?  My guess would be Matsuzaka who has been passable in Vegas - 12 IP, 7 H, 6 BB and 12 K, 3 ER.  The other two have been excellent in their three starts.

he was suppose to be a innings eater. if he lost 30lbs his back would feel better

maybe he hurt it looking back at all the home runs he was giving up.
