B-Mets extend stadium lease to 2021

The Mets’ Double-A franchise is staying in Binghamton.

The B-Mets announced Wednesday they have extended their lease with NYSEG Stadium through the 2021 season.

The team, which made the Eastern League playoffs this season, had reportedly considered a move to Ottawa.

B-Mets are a budding dynasty.Alderson and the Wilpons don't see a great fit for them in NY, They like mediocrity and suckering their fans.

For the players at Binghamton getting promoted to Vagas must feel like a reprieve from the Governor.

I've been going to b-mets games for years love it there, sure the stadium isn't the greatest but it's a good environment

The stadium is a dump. I just saw a doubleheader there last week, hopefully with this extension there is some major upkeep (yes upkeep, not even upgrades) to the park.

That's great news. Didn't want to see one team in Vegas the other in Ottawa and the other in Mars.

why not move the AAA team here, since vegas seems to pose such an altitude problem?

@Brett MacLeod I believe that Binghamton is the smallest market and has the smallest park in the Eastern League. It couldn't support a AAA team, not to mention the fact that someone would have to move an existing International League franchise there and the Mets would have to change affiliation to the team. A flip between Brooklyn and Binghamton would make more sense, not that the Yanks would allow it after the Mets nixed a temporary stay for their AAA team (Scranton) in Newark.
