Murphy is our only all star over Wright? Yikes.

Our face of the franchise can't even beat Aramis Ramirez in a popularity contest.....

Murphy sucks, that is why Mets will never get players. The fans are snowed easy. The fans think Murphy is a good 2b man, he even ranks 15th among 2b in fantasy

Murphy deserves to be on the All-Star team more than Wright does.  Murphy is one the better 2B in the NL and has been the MVP of our offense.

they should the entire team mets down to minor so they can get hungry and learn to play on MLB level

I see Wright is not on tonight's ( Friday) lineup  No surprise here  .  He should have been put on the DL in the 1st place .

It's never a meritocracy it's a popularity contest, but yeah I hope murph gets in. I did my part and voted as many times as allowed.

How about the rest of you…did you vote and who did you vote for?

I'm sorry, but David Wright is the most over-rated player in MLB. It is what it is. He is not the player he once was. Saying that, the line-up can still use him. Unfortunately, that is more of a product of how terrible we are offensively.

Asg is lame unless it's at Citi!

I wish there was an AS manager vote. I'd vote TC every time.

I HOPE MURPH IS IN THE ALL STAR GAME. HE CERTAINLY DESERVES IT!

He's hurt with a .277 avg and 6 HRs.  Not quite sure how anyone can argue Wright should be the starting NL AS starting 3B.

It's a shame that the mlb forces every team to have an all star representative. Truth is no one on the Mets deserves to be an Allstar this year and their spot will be the cause of some guy who busted his butt all year to not get the honor.

he's not the best 3B in the NL...he shouldn't be there..i hate the All Star Game popularity contest.

@kefhrny17 Even that was lame ... and sadly, the Queens All-Star game moment that everyone will remember is a Yankee getting a standing ovation. Vintage Mets ...

@supert I'm sure that Sandy has some obscure sabermetric in his pouch that makes David into a superstar and worthy of the ASG.

@supert Numbers would disagree with you, they are very close in most categories.

@tk2120 then don't watch, don't even comment

I think Wright and Murph are deserving. Wright on past performance, Murph on this years performance. As for stuffing MLB prompts you to submit again, so it's part of the paradigm. The allstar game is not "one fan one vote"

You laugh but one year ago Rick Ankiel was on the Ballot as METS Centerfielder. So not everything gets worse.

@steve333 @cleonsvan

I'll give you 5 that are more deserving right now.

Todd Frazier .289/.356/.503, 17 HR, 47 RBI
Anthony Rendon .280/.338/.477 12 HR, 48 RBI

Aramis Ramirez .282/.333/.477 11 HR, 40 RBI
Pedro Alvarez .242/.328/.412 13 HR 42 RBI
Matt Carpenter .290/.381/.396 4 HR, 32 RBI

vs

David Wright .277/.333/.396 6 HR, 41 RBI

Sick of people thinking this guy is more valuable than he really is. He is especially not worth the $20m that he's getting either.

@Peter Loibl @kefhrny17 yeah well the yankees are nearly as bad as the mets and they shelled out half a billion for a team of has-beens and wounded Dh's

@Joe Wenzel Wright also has a history of burning himself out by the end of the year so I like the idea of him sitting it out and getting more heal-time.

wright has had a long great career, he has had down years and thus year may be one of them. It's not always about stats. I've watched a lot of baseball in my life 45 years worth, and Wright is a gem.

@oddmanrush. All those numbers are very similiar. Yeah he has less hr but RBI are right there. His defense is much better than the others.

Mark Kohn

@Joe Wenzel  I was comparing both Ramirez and Wright, seeing how they were the top 2 vote getters for 3B.

I'll continue to keep my smug grin on, thank you very much.

@rico This is not the point of the conversation. This is about whether or not David Wright is worthy of being an all-star based on this season's performance.
